Summer events, summer sales, summer discounts, summer purchases…everything happens around this time of year. We spend more money this time of year than any other. We travel more, purchase more, and are generally left with more free time to do leisure things- which results in more money spent.
So to save yourself at least an extra hundred dollars per month, here’s a list of the top 5 ways to save during this season.
1)Don’t buy it just because it’s on sale
A lot of times we purchase things because they are on sale…but they are not needed. Not all great sales are deals!
2)Dust off your piggy bank
You’d be surprised at how much money we throw away or misplace, daily. Change accumulates to dollars. If you are always on the go, carry a solid colored cup with a lid to hold any spare change. For money laying around the house, use an old jar or container to house any loose monies. At the end of the month, the money in your car and house should be around $20, easily.
3)Make your food, take your food
It is so convenient to buy fast food, but is the price and amount worth it? Preparing meals at your house and carrying it on the road with you is an old tip but can always spare you a few extra dollars.
4)Buy in bulk!
Stores such as Sam’s and Costco can be lifesavers during the summer months. Buy your drinks, eating utensils, meats, sauces, and popsicles to prepare you for the family cookout!
5)Purchase your summer gear online
Shop the clearance section of online clearance stores such as Amazon. Buy some of your favorite summer shoes, tops, shorts, and swimming gear at a low price and see select options you can’t find in the store.
Happy Summer Savings!!!
